KLIMA-AKTIONSWOCHE AN DER KUNSTAKADEMIE DÜSSELDORF

Aus dem Bewusstsein heraus, dass wir uns als künstlerisch und kunstwissenschaftlich Wirkende der Verantwortung einer globalen (Klima-)Ungerechtigkeit in besonderer Weise stellen müssen, hat sich an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf eine größere und stetig wachsende Arbeitsgruppe aus Studierenden und Lehrenden konstituiert. Wir möchten über den Zusammenhang von Kunst und Klima, von Freiheit und Verantwortung diskutieren und konkrete Handlungsoptionen für die Akademie erarbeiten. Aktuelle geopolitische Entwicklungen, der Krieg in der Ukraine und Klimadebatten um ein postfossiles Zeitalter stehen in engem Zusammenhang. Wir setzen uns für eine akademieweite Sensibilisierung und Sichtbarmachung von Klimaschutz- und Nachhaltigkeitsthemen in Kunst, Wissenschaft, Praxis und Verwaltung ein und möchten diese Themen in der Akademie verankern.

Out of the awareness that we, as artists and art scholars, have to face the responsibility of a global (climate) injustice in a special way, a larger and steadily growing working group of students and teachers has been constituted at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. We would like to discuss the connection between art and climate, freedom and responsibility, and develop concrete options for action for the Academy. Current geopolitical developments, the war in Ukraine and climate debates about a post-fossil age are closely related. We are committed to raising awareness and making visible climate protection and sustainability issues in art, science, practice and administration across the academy and would like to anchor these issues in the academy.
